TEACHER EDUCATION - DEPARTMENT


The department of Teacher Education came into existence of the University of Ibadan Senate's approval of the B.Ed degree programme in 2001l20( academic session. The department started with courses in Christian Religious Studies, Social Studies and English Language in 20011201 session while Political Science and Economics were added in 20021201 session.

All admission, matriculation, lectures, examination, graduation a certification are carried out under the auspices of the University ofIbadan. The department has produced graduates in 2003/2004, 2004/2005 and 2005/2006 session.

REGISTRATION : PENAL CODE GENERAL REGULATION


A very important condition for registration (subject to change) is the payment of the following fees:

  • Professional Fees
  • Maintenance Fees
  • Registration Fees
  • Sports Fees
  • Library Fees
  • Caution Fees
  • Acceptance Fees (New Students Only)
  • Hostel Fees (Optional)
  • Affiliation Fees (Degree Students Only)
  • In addition, students should take note of the following

    All students shall register for the courses they intend to take at the beginning of each semester.

    Registration shall be in accordance with the rules and regulations, which may be changed from time to time by the College.

    Any student who fails to register after four weeks of resumption of session shall pay for late registration.

    Production of specialist teachers for the total development of the youth at all levels of the nation's educational system.

  • REGISTRATION PROCEDURE FOR OLD STUDENTS

  • Collect Teller From The Bursary And Pay All Necessary Fees Into The Bank

  • Having Paid, Collect Clearance From Bursary And Collect Registration Formes) From The Registry

  • Complete The Registration Forms Using Your Student's Handbook With The Assistance Of The Course Adviser Or H.O.D;

  • See The HOD With Photocopies Of Your Receipts For Signing Of Registration Forms Before Returning; The Originals To The Registry And Copies To Your H.O.D. And Degree Office, For Your Files.
  • REGISTRATION PROCEDURE FOR NEW STUDENTS

  • Collect Your Admission Letter Along With The Acceptance And Guarantor's Forms From The Registry;

  • Submit The Acceptance And Guarantor's Fonns After Filling Along With Photocopies Of All Your Credentials E.G. JAMB Admission Letter, Birth Certificate Or Declaration Of Age And School Certificate/GCE Result To The Registry;

  • Collect Teller From The Bursary After Due Clearance To Pay, And Pay All Necessary Fees Into The Bank;

  • Go To The Registry With All Necessary Receipts Of Payments For Your Registration Forms And Personal Date Form;

  • Complete The Registration Forms With The Assistance Of The Head Of Department / Course Adviser;

  • Take The Completed Registration Forms To The Registry With The Following Attached; Receipt Of All The Fees PaiD and Already Completed Students' Personal Data Form

    Students are advised in their own interest to comply with the registration period. Late registration normally attracts a fine as will be stipulated.


  • EXAMINATION REGULATION

  • All Candidates Shall Register For College Examination By Completing Appropriate Form To Be Signed By Course Lecturers, HOD(S), Bursary And Registry.

  • To Qualify For Examination, A Candidate Shall Fulfill College, School And Departmental Requirements Including 70% Attendance At Lectures In Respect Ofthe Course( S) To Be Examined.

  • Knowledge Of Examination Date(S) Time(S), And Place(S) Shall Be The Responsibilities Of Candidates, Which Could Be Obtained From The Notice Board.

  • A Candidate Shall Arrive At The Examination Hall And Be Seated At Least 30 Minutes Before The Advertised Time On The Timetable.

  • Candidates Shall Not Be AlIm: Ed Into The Examination Hall After 30 Minutes Of Commencement Of Examination Without Authentic Reason.

  • Candidates Shall Be Allowed 0 Leave The Examination Hall Within The Period Of Writing Only Under The Continuous Supervision Of The Invigilator( S) .

  • Candidates Shall Not Be Allowed To Leave The Examination Hall In The Last 15 Minutes Of The Examination.

  • It Is Compulsory For Candidates To Display Their Identity Card On The Desk.

  • Candidates Must Ensure That They Sign In And Out Of Examination Halls .

  • Answer Scripts Must Be Handed 0 Er To The Invigilator Before Signing Out Of The Examination Hall. .

  • Candidates Shall Not Give Or Receive Any Form Of Assistance From Any Source During The Examination.

  • The Use Of Scrap Paper Is No Permitted. All Work Must Be Done On The Answer Booklets Provided B The Invigilator.

  • Handbags, Briefcases And Unauthorized Calculators Are Prohibited From The Examination Hall.

  • Any Candidate Who Violates Any Of The Regulations And Those Issued From Time To Time Shall Be Deemed To Have Displayed Indiscipline. Such Candidate Shall Be Treated Appropriately.

  • Candidates Are Advised To Appear In Simple Dress To Avoid Embarrassment.

  • Invigilators Are Authorized To Search Candidates Before Entering The' Hall And Whenever Need Arises.

  • Candidates Must Bring To The Examination Hall Their Writing Material And Any Material, Which May Be Pennitted By These Regulations, But They Are Not Allowed To Bring Any Paper Or Books.

  • Silence Shall Be Observed In The Examination Hall. The Only Permissible Way Of Attracting The Attention Of The Invigilator Is By Raising Of Hands.

  • Candidates Shall Not Use Mobile Phones Or Receive Calls In The Halls 20.. Candidates Shall Not Smoke In The Examination Hall.

  • Candidates Are Advised In Their Own Interest To Write Legibly And Tc Avoid Using Ballpoint Pen. Answers Shall Be Written In Englist Language Except As Otherwise Instructed .

  • Before Handing In Their Scripts At The Examination, Candidates ShaJ: Satisfy Themselves That They Have Inserted At The Appropriate Place Their Examination Numbers And The Numbers Of Questions They Answered. Candidates Are Allowed To Leave The Examination Hall Only With The Question Paper, And Any Materials They May Have.Brought With Them.

  • Candidates Shall Not Remove Or Mutilate Any Paper And Materials Supplied By The College. Candidates Suspected Of Any Form Of Exam-Malpractice Shall Sign The Necessary Fonns. Any Attempt To Refuse Cooperation In This Regard Shall Be Dealt With Appropriately.
